Dirk Hovy

Dirk Hovy is Dean for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence at Bocconi University. Trained as a computer scientist, he works on natural language processing and computational social science, in particular on how demographic factors shape language and what this means for the performance, fairness and personalisation of statistical models. He is also interested in deep learning and in the ethics of bias and algorithmic fairness in machine learning.
