Data Sharing

Before using an AI model on research data, check whether the data may leave Bocconi. Many datasets used in the social sciences, such as administrative records, survey microdata and restricted-access files, cannot be sent to external AI services.

AISS applies a simple order of questions: can the data legally leave Bocconi; must the result replicate in five years; does a fine-tuned small model do the job; only then, cost. When data must stay in-house, models run on Bocconi's own computing infrastructure.
